Jim is almost certainly by Lines circa 1880 - 1900. He is 46" high, extra carved and has the deep
Lines fetlocks. The paint is entirely original but the saddle is not.
However his identity is not completely straightforward as the brackets are stamped J&G L L but he is a typical G&J shape
rather than the thick necked and much chunkier typical J&G shaped horses.
His thistle badges have no lettering on them.
Note the subtle differences in shape of horse and stand between Jim and Joy / Dickens
( see next picture ).
